Exchange Programs
With both our Sister Cities we have rich tradition of sending residents to and from our cities. This allows us to share our cultures with each other and helps us to promote peace and understanding among our communities.
Student Exchanges
Every January students from our sister city Gwacheon, South Korea travel to Burlington for experiences here. They live with volunteer host families, attend classes at The Burlington School, and travel around the North Carolina area. This allows them to experience life as a student in the US as well as get a better understanding of our city and culture.
Tutoring Trips
Each year a delegation from Burlington travels to Soledad de Graciano Sánchez to help with tutoring English and spending time with the residents of Soledad. Long lasting friendships have developed among residents from both communities and has enabled them to have a greater appreciation of each other.
